Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Lara Blacklock is a an artist, photographer and aspiring writer.
She moved to Canada and studied photography at the Alberta College of Art & Design in Calgary, Alberta and then studied media at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C.
After diving into a variety of jobs in both the film and marketing industries in Vancouver, B.C., Lara decided the 9 to 5 ladder climbing lifestyle wasn't for her and neither was an ever increasing college debt.
In 2018, she dropped out of school and packed up her bags to go travelling through Southeast Asia where she discovered buddhism and the art of being a digital nomad.
She is now based in Caracas, Venezuela where she works as a freelance photographer and creates collage artwork. She also offers wellness advice and writes (in Spanglish) about her unconventional career path through her personal blog.
